Hello Everyone!
Here goes my first review of mobile phones. It’s Nokia N91. Yes, I bet you thought “well it’s a bit old… why not review newer phones?” Well the answer is because I own one of these. And compared to other n-series phones it is very similar in features. I hope this info helps.
Let’s look at the design first. Dimensions 113.1 x 55.2 x 22 mm, weight is 164 g. It looks like a brick, it weights like brick too and then if you would hit someone with it, it will hurt somewhat like a brick would. So yes it is a brick used for self-defense. The keypads could be a bit bigger and I think more shortcut buttons would help too. Other than that design is pretty good for a music phone. Because you can easily navigate thru your songs and adjust the volume at the same time, when you’re walking or jogging while it is in your pocket. Screen size isn’t the best it’s 35 x 41 mm, 176 x 208 pixels, so if you would try to watch something with subtitles there is a good chance you won’t be able to see/read them properly.
Move on to the actual features of the phone. Start with the camera... Personally I don’t like it, it isn’t powerful enough for the rest of the phone. 2 Mega pixels you might think it’s ok but compared to 4GB HDD, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g, GPRS class 10 32 - 48 kbps, Bluetooth, 3G and so on... don’t you think this phone should have higher mega pixel count camera? There are more features but I won’t go into detailing them those are the best features mentioned above. I mean, I can just walk around any area in my city find a wireless network and download any mp3 track while I wait for my train or bus. Not only mp3 almost any file. It is all thanks to OS that most Nokia phones have, Symbian OS.
You might think it’s nothing special but I think, I will never buy a phone without this OS.
It is somewhat like windows it does everything. Only less complicated : ) but I mean you can read your pdfs, you can play your mp3, wma, and ogg songs, you can even watch mpegs or avi files. Way too much features to mention. And application installation is very simple.
Problems that come after usage is that it gets slow, the hdd could be better or your speaker or headphones start acting-up. And again I mention hdd, there really is one I had my phone in peaces. It’s just a bit bigger than your thumb. But it does start to act up so be sure to backup all your data regularly.
